A good reason to visit Umbria in June?
The wonderful "Bloom" in Castelluccio di Norcia, a gorgeous village at 1.452 mts. a.s.l. that, from a point of outstanding beauty, is dominant on vaste plain composed of three valleys: the Piano Grande, the Piano Piccolo and the Piano Perduto.
This impressive natural amphitheater is surrounded by the chain of Sibillini, with the Monte Vettore (2.476 mts a.s.l.), the highest mountain between Umbria and Le Marche.
Every year, from end of May till July, the area is covered by an amazing mosaic of colours, the bloom of thousand of flowers: blue cornflowers, red poppy, white daisy and narcissus, yellow buttercup and lentils flowers.
This part of Umbria is famous all over the world for the production of a high quality small lentils.
There is not a fix date to admire this spectacular event because it is connected to nature and climate conditions.
The view of a bed of colours on Piano Grande or a walk between the flowers is an unforgettable experience that changes every day.
